If I did that, then that would defeat the purpose of the question.

There is no such thing….authors will sell you on the idea that you can read there stuff and that it will improve your life somehow (this is a lie). The reason for this is because everyone is different, everyone has different emotions different needs and desires. One book can not cater to everyone on the planet its given as a general help. You need personalized help if your seeking assistance in your life. You need to see a counselor/pyschologist, the reason they are effective is because they discuss what kind of life you have lived, the things you’ve done and basically get a sense of who you are inside and what you really need before they start shelling out words of wisdom.

If you need help please I urge you to seek professional help not the help of someone trying to sell his books.

The Handbook of Self-Help Therapies reviews research on books and programs for a variety of mood and behavioral problems. Some popular books have been found to have usefulness comparable to that of regular therapy with office visits. I have spent a lot of time studying this. You can find out what I’ve discovered by reading my answers.

Self help is not for everybody. Some problems require office visits. There’s a vast number of ineffective books. Reading as therapy can actually make somebody feel worse, by self-blame if there is failure to reach the objectives.
