Keep in mind this does not come with the access code! So though it may be cheaper than your school bookstore’s- you still may have to buy the online access code for another 30 dollars, depending on your professor. Also, you may need to buy a study guide, as well. Sometimes getting all three at your school store is cheaper!

It’s no better than the next book, but it’s not a chore reading it either. Get the 8th edition and save a lot of money. As a psych major I still read all the required chapters and found bits and pieces of new information.

It is definately the way to go when looking for used college books online…Amazon.com is awesome in that it gives students like me the opportunity to purchase needed textbooks at a very reasonable price.
I looked for this same book at my college book store and was told that the “new” ones sell for $200, but she had only 2 used ones left and they were $99 each!! Eh gads, not cost effective for a struggling college student!
I will continue to use Amazon.com for all my school books, and encourage the reader of this review to shop around and compare…I bet you’ll come back to Amazon.com for YOUR books!

David Myers has done something incredible: written a near perfect textbook that can be used both at the AP and university level. Obsessively up to date, and an occasional quip so you can have a laugh. The book is balanced with physiological explanations as well as some representative behavioral treatments. The text is now a standard for beginning level psychology.

I used an older edition of this text book when I was a sophomore in high school for my AP Psychology course. The text book was interesting, and was very consise and easy to read. My teachers weren’t the best, but with this textbook I was able to score an easy 5 on the exam (I almost laughed during the exam because it seemed too easy).
The only bad thing I have to say about this textbook is that the binding isn’t that strong. It would be great for a one use occassion, but because my school used these for a few years, it didn’t take much to put all of the “Myers in Modules” books into pieces.
Overall, it’s a great textbook, and I highly recommend it for anybody who is taking an introductory psychology course, the AP Psychology course, or anybody who is interested in psychology!

This is an awesome book! It was written in “plain english” for better understanding. Explains in detail psychological words or defenitions. Uses every day analogue and different contexts to describe somethings importance or meaning. Great Book! Also, Bolds or italicizes all important info!
