Care Communications Urges Healthcare Providers to Make the Best of the ICD-10 Time Delay and be More Successful
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 19, 2012
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Marilyn Tavenner announced intent to reexamine the ICD-10 Implementation timeframe. In her comments she identified that providers communicated that they are struggling with multiple priorities including meeting meaningful use requirements, preparing for health exchanges, and implementing ICD-10. Administrator Tavenner, did not definitively state that ICD-10 would delayed, but suggested that a delay was quite possible. Then on Thursday February 16, 2012 Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services issued a press release stating that HHS will announce a new ICD-10 compliance date. A final decision on the new date has not been made.
